NEW RRALF 4R100 Roundup Ready Alfalfa Tech Info.

RRALF 4R100 is sold under the High Cycle brand. It is resistant to the Roundup family of agricultural herbicides. All commercial seed lots have been tested to confirm that more than 90% of the plants carry the Roundup Ready trait.

RRALF 4R100 was developed using advanced breeding techniques to ensure that the resulting
variety is as good as or better than elite commercial varieties currently available.

The fall dormancy (FD) and winterhardiness (WH) for RRALF 4R100 was measured in forage yield trials in West Salem, WI and Boone, IA

Multiple pest resistance of RRALF 4R100 was measured using standardized
tests for key pests and diseases.
Those include: Bacterial wilt (BW), Fusarium wilt (FW), Verticillium wilt (VW),
Anthracnose (AN), Phytophthora root rot (PRR), Aphanomyces root rot-Race 1 (APH-1),
Pea aphid (PA), and Stem nematode (SN).

Forage yield potential of RRALF 4R100 was compared to popular commercial varieties in multiple
location trials established in 2003. As shown on the chart above, 2004 Forage Yield is reported as a percent of check variety averaged over 6 locations and 26 cuttings in 2003.

Forage quality potential, Relative Feed Quality (RFQ), of RRALF 4R100 was measured at 4 locations and a total of 8 cuttings using NIRS and is summarized below.
