Hugh Curtis from Hawkeye, IA. Hugh is a full-time mail carrier for the
Hawkeye area, as well as a grain farmer,
with help from his brother, cousin, and uncle. Working together, they
farm about 900 acres of corn, soybeans, and some alfalfa. Hugh truly
enjoys the great outdoors. He travels the Midwest participating in trap
shooting, as well as hunting and fishing, recently taking a trip to Canada
in early August. Hugh has named 19-year-old, Ty Halverson of Hawkeye,
Iowa as the recipient for his prize. Ty is currently attending Northeast
Iowa Community College and plans to attend University of Northern Iowa
in January, working on a degree in Elementary Education. In the winter
months, Ty enjoys tutoring younger children. In the summer, he works
with children in sports, along with coaching and umpiring youth baseball.
